We are currently gearing up for the pitch tomorrow. My team is working with a concept motorcycle from Ducati, called Zero. This electric motorcycle looks futuristic, so the team and I decided to head in the direction of electricity and futuristic landscapes for our inspiration.
I found various reference images and inspiration to help inform our concepts for my part of the pitch process. Inspired by the Free Guy and Blade runner movies, the scenes we are trying to create and the FX work will center around a portal to bring the future of electricity to today’s vehicles. Here are some of the references I found:
The BMW commercial had some great transitions between a concept car and a current one.
This Honda commercial I felt had a great sense of narrative as well as interesting effects that related to our concept.
Kyle and I will be tackling the film’s effects. We have been investigating portal effects along the lines of light streaks from long exposure photography, some particle effects similar to Dr. Strange, and some stretching/duplication effects for the vehicle to show it has entered the portal. So here is my contribution to that reference:
In addition to the reference images and ideation of this project, I was responsible for creating the storyboard for our pitch deck. I am not a storyboard artist, but I did my best to capture the contrast between the futuristic neon world and the present. I also wanted to highlight the boards’ portal/flying motorcycle effects.
